WHO IS DANIEL STEELE?
Following a great 37-year career as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division in Washington, D.C. I have taken up my avocation of many years as a full time endeavor – following the economy, equity markets, and learning a lot more about the discipline of investing through great legendary investors – Jesse Livermore, Bernard Baruch, Gerald Loeb and others right up through the introduction of “modern portfolio theory” in the early 1960s by Harry Markowitz, Nobel prize winner for economic sciences.
I also follow today’s great investors, among them Stan Weinstein, Mark Minervini, and Dr. Eric Wish at the University of Maryland (www.wishingwealthblog.com), a professor with a teacher’s heart who mentored me freely and without cost with valuable investment knowledge.
Now, that is my goal here: to pass along my investment knowledge to about 50 percent of Americans not participating in equity markets for lack of knowledge and/or self-confidence. I do so because achieving knowledge through learning matters and valuable knowledge, once learned, is to be freely shared – my website’s purpose. Similarly, these are my goals and motivations in writing for you, my readers:
- To get my thought(s) onto a page, express it in plain English, in an accessible way (my website);
- To keep sophisticated concepts simple; to turn out the best product I can, and to only write when I have
something to say; - I write only when I have an idea based on a confluence of information – I have to write about that!
- I re-read my initial draft about three times, getting it from a B to an A, and then to an A+;
- I try to tell a story of high quality that the reader will find interesting and/or helpful;
- I believe that in the internet age, writing is a better way than ever to communicate great thoughts;
- As a lawyer by profession, my modus operandi in every writing is to be logical and to express solid, worth-while ideas clearly;
- Oftentimes, my writing will engage contravening ideas or views about which I may attempt to differentiate, reconcile, or argue for one side or the other, but in all cases the objective will be to write honestly and to the best of my ability to further the reader’s well-being and success. Because your time is valuable, there will be no argument for argument’s sake.
