WHO IS DANIEL STEELE?

Following a great 37-year career as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division in Washington, D.C. I have taken up my avocation of many years as a full time endeavor – following the economy, equity markets, and learning a lot more about the discipline of investing through great legendary investors – Jesse Livermore, Bernard Baruch, Gerald Loeb and others right up through the introduction of “modern portfolio theory” in the early 1960s by Harry Markowitz, Nobel prize winner for economic sciences.

I also follow today’s great investors, among them Stan Weinstein, Mark Minervini, and Dr. Eric Wish at the University of Maryland (www.wishingwealthblog.com), a professor with a teacher’s heart who mentored me freely and without cost with valuable investment knowledge.

Now, that is my goal here: to pass along my investment knowledge to about 50 percent of Americans not participating in equity markets for lack of knowledge and/or self-confidence. I do so because achieving knowledge through learning matters and valuable knowledge, once learned, is to be freely shared – my website’s purpose. Similarly, these are my goals and motivations in writing for you, my readers:

To get my thought(s) onto a page, express it in plain English, in an accessible way (my website);
To keep sophisticated concepts simple; to turn out the best product I can, and to only write when I have
something to say;
I write only when I have an idea based on a confluence of information – I have to write about that!
I re-read my initial draft about three times, getting it from a B to an A, and then to an A+;
I try to tell a story of high quality that the reader will find interesting and/or helpful;
I believe that in the internet age, writing is a better way than ever to communicate great thoughts;
As a lawyer by profession, my modus operandi in every writing is to be logical and to express solid, worth-while ideas clearly;
Oftentimes, my writing will engage contravening ideas or views about which I may attempt to differentiate, reconcile, or argue for one side or the other, but in all cases the objective will be to write honestly and to the best of my ability to further the reader’s well-being and success. Because your time is valuable, there will be no argument for argument’s sake.

WHO IS CARLO ACUTIS?

Bl. Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager and millennial, died on October 12, 2006 when he was fifteen years old of promyelocytic leukemia (APL).

Born in 1991, the same year the World Wide Web was launched and its prodigy, a digital world-wide information revolution with URLs, HTML, and HTTP. Bl. Carlo became conversant with the new technology at an early age acquiring all essential skills about website design, computer programming, and devices/systems connectivity. With these skills, Bl. Carlo computerized his Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition broadcasting it throughout the world to make all aware of the supernatural reality of “miracles” and God’s presence on earth in the holy Eucharist – in his words:

“In the Eucharist, Jesus is really present with his Body, his Blood, his Soul and his Divinity, and it is not a symbol.”

The Beatification of Carlo Acutis, a step before Sainthood, was declared and celebrated by Cardinal
Agostino Vallini at Mass in Assisi, Italy on October 10, 2020:

Carlo Acutis declared Blessed on October 20, 2020 at Basilica of St, Francis of Assisi, Assisi, Italy

The Cardinal pointed to Carlo Acutis’ life’s choices, demeanor, character, traits, and priorities warranting beatification. Among them, he stated:

Carlo’s putting God in the first place, in life’s large and small circumstances, and serving brothers and sisters, especially the least;
Carlo’s life is an example, particularly for young people, not to seek gratification only in ephemeral success, but in the perennial values that Jesus suggests in the Gospel;
Carlo’s “strength” was in having a personal, intimate and deep relationship with Jesus [and] in making the Eucharist the loftiest moment of his relationship with God;
Carlo was an average, simple, spontaneous, likable young man — suffice it to look at his photograph;
Carlo loved nature and animals, played soccer [and loved swimming and hiking]. Always giving witness to his faith, he had many friends his age and beyond [who hung with];
Carlo was attracted to modern means of social communication, was passionate about information technology and taught himself how to build media to transmit the Gospel, to communicate values and beauty;
Carlo had an extraordinary ability to give witness to the values he believed in, even at the cost of facing misunderstandings, obstacles and at times even being derided;
Carlo felt a powerful need to help people discover that God is near us and that it is beautiful to be with Him to enjoy His friendship and His grace.
